Add Alternatives (Create New...)
In HEC-LifeSim, Alternatives represent complete evacuation simulation scenarios that combine all the main elements of the model: hydraulic events, structures (population), road networks, emergency planning zones, and destination points.
Add Destination Data from Shapefile
In HEC-LifeSim, destination points are key elements for simulating population evacuation in dam failure scenarios. These points represent the final destinations where individuals or groups head during evacuation, such as shelters, safe areas, or assembly points.
Add Road Networks from OpenStreetMap
Add Emergency Planning Zone
In HEC-LifeSim, Emergency Planning Zones are not only spatial, but also linked to the population’s level of preparedness and their ability to respond. Typical categories are:
Import structures from NSI
The "Structures" inventory will appear under the Study tree under Structure Inventories.
Import structures from shapefiles
The "Import From Point Shapefile" dialog box will open. We have to select the point shapefile that represents a structure inventory for an area and contains information on structure occupancy types, population, structure values, foundation height, construction type, and other information.
Add Hydraulic Data from HEC-RAS
Two are types of Hydraulic Data that you have to import: the plans of the Failure and Non Failure scenarios.
