Input Data from HEC-HMS
Trigger Failure at: WS Elevation
Starting WS: it is the upstream water level threshold that, once reached, automatically starts the breach erosion process.
Pool Elevation at Failure (ft): it is the upstream water surface elevation set to represent the maximum reservoir level reached when the breach is fully developed. It defines the water level at which the breach geometry is assumed complete and governs the peak outflow hydrograph.
You can use the value of the peak hydrograph. You can obtain it looking at the results of the simulation performed with HEC-HMS.
From HEC-HMS, opening the Summary Table of the Reservoir, you can obtain two useful values for the Breach Analysis:
1) Pool Elevation at Failure (ft) ---> Select Volume Units IN -----> Peak Elevation (ft)
2) Pool Volume at Failure (acre-ft) ---> Select Volume Units ACRE-FT -----> Peak Storage (acre-ft)
