We create a list of sheets that link to your drawings.
1) Select Drafting and Annotation.
2) On the View ribbon, in the Palettes panel, click Sheet Set Manager.
3) In the Sheet Set Manager Palette, expand the drop down in the upper left and choose New Sheet Set...
4) It will open the Create Sheet Set wizard. If you have to create a sheet set based on existing drawings, on the first page of the wizard (Begin) choose Existing drawings.
Select the location where you want to store the sheet set data file (.dst).
Then, click Next.
5) On the Sheet set Details page, in the Name of new sheet set field enter the name for the sheet set.
Although you can set the Sheet Set Properties at this point, it is a simple manner to go back and set them later. So, simply click Next.
6) On the Choose Layout page, click the Browse... button.
The program displays a browse for folder dialogue, so you can navigate to the folder where your project drawings are located.
Now you see a list of layouts that were found in the folder you selected. You can expand the folders and drawings so that you can select all the layouts that you want to include as sheets in the sheet set.
If a drawing includes multiple layouts, they will be displayed in the list.
You should only select those drawings and layouts that you want to be represented as sheets.
For example, you would not select drawings of model geometry that are used as X_ref,
In this case, I selected all the six drawings but I cleared the reference folder.
Then, click on Import Option... to open the Import Options dialogue.
If you select Prefix sheet titles with file name, it means that the drawing file name will be included as part of the sheet name.
If you want to create a subset in the sheet set that match folders, you would select the option to create subsets based on folder structure. If you were to select that option, but you did not want to create a subset of the main folder from which you were importing your drawings, you could choose the option Ignore top level folder.
Click Next.
7) Finally, on the Confirm page. you can review the sheet set structure.
If everything is fine, click Finish.
8) The sheet set you just create is now open on the sheet list tab of the Sheet Set Manager.
The names are just shortcuts or pointers to the layouts in the drawing files.
The layouts have not changed and the program has not created any new drawings or folders.
We have just created a sheet set data file with a list of sheets that link to your drawings.
